Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This policy describes how Duval Helpdesk handles personal information in connection with our website, bookings, payments, and technology services. It covers information we handle for our own business operations. When we manage or host a customer's systems, our handling of that customer's data is also governed by the applicable service agreement and instructions.
1. Information we collect
- Contact and service information: your name, email address, phone number, service address when needed, messages, appointment details, requested services, and information you provide about your devices or technical issue.
- Payment and transaction information: the service purchased, amount, payment status, transaction reference, and billing or refund records. Card details entered into Stripe checkout are handled by Stripe. Do not send full card numbers or security codes to us by email.
- Technical information: website and server requests may include IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, and error or security logs.
- Information encountered during service: device settings, diagnostic results, screen contents, files, and account information may be accessible when necessary for authorized support. Only provide access and information relevant to the work.
Customer accounts: we store your name, verified email, account sessions, marketing preference and its update history. Accounts can be created before a purchase. A verified account may be linked to its Stripe customer record so its own billing information can be shown.
2. How we use information
We use information to respond to requests, provide and troubleshoot services, schedule appointments, process payments and refunds, send service communications, maintain business records, protect systems, prevent abuse, and meet applicable legal obligations. We do not use access granted for technical support as permission to browse unrelated personal files.
3. Service providers and sharing
We share information as needed with providers that help operate our business, such as payment processing, email, calendar scheduling, website hosting, and authorized remote-support tools. Stripe handles online payments, Resend sends automated account emails and may deliver promotional emails, and Google Workspace services support our business email and calendar scheduling. These providers may process information under their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or systems, to enforce an agreement, or as part of a lawful business transfer subject to appropriate privacy protections. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Cookies and browser storage
Our website and integrated services may use cookies or browser storage needed for operation, security, checkout, or remembering choices. Third-party services may set their own cookies when you interact with them. You can manage cookies and site storage through your browser; disabling them may affect checkout or other functionality. This policy does not authorize unrelated advertising or tracking.
5. Remote support and customer systems
Remote access is used with your authorization to perform the agreed work. Close private or unrelated information before a session. Unattended or continuing access requires a separate arrangement. We do not request that you send passwords by ordinary email. Where access information is necessary, we will arrange an appropriate way to provide it.
If your business gives us access to information about your employees or customers, you are responsible for having authority to provide that access. The applicable service agreement should address any special security, confidentiality, retention, or regulatory requirements before work begins.
6. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the service, business records, security, dispute resolution, and applicable legal obligations. Retention varies by the type of record and service. Information in backups may remain until those backups are replaced under their retention cycle.
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and service, but no internet transmission, device, or storage system is completely secure. Contact us promptly if you believe information connected to our services has been exposed or misused.
7. Your choices and requests
You may contact support@duvalhelpdesk.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to ask about its use. We may need to verify your identity before acting. Requests are handled subject to applicable law and records we must retain for legitimate legal or business reasons.
You can decline to provide optional information, although we may be unable to provide a service without information required for that service. The account creation form displays a checked marketing preference for Duval Helpdesk offers and updates. You can uncheck it before submitting, or sign in and turn it off in your account preferences later. Creating or keeping an account does not require marketing. Necessary account, appointment, payment, and service messages may still be sent.
8. Children and external services
Our services are intended for adults and authorized business representatives. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us. Links to external websites and third-party services are governed by those providers' own policies.
9. Updates and contact
We may update this policy as our practices or services change and will revise the date shown above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent for a material change.
